Had to do a couple of familiarisation sessions before a driving test required to transfer an international licence to WA. Andrew responded to an online request and was at the designated meeting spot on time in a vehicle superb condition. The lessons and instructions were clear, to the point and focused on understanding the latest road/vehicle rules. Andrew also understood that folks who drive in other countries may not be familiar with the local rules and focused on these 'mistakes' that are usually made ensuring that with some practice they were not repeated. Also used the same vehicle for the test which made it convenient. I can say without doubt that the decision to hire Andrew as my instructor made all the difference and I was able to pass the test without any difficulty. I can recommend him to any one who wants a disciplined, professional and no nonsense instructor who does not drag the lessons to waste time and money.

Joondalup Driving Practice has provided spectacular driving lessons which has played a major role in getting my provisional license on the first attempt. The instructor, Andrew, has taught with patience and expertise to deliver quality lessons. The lessons were informative and have shown me what to expect for the test. Various exercises were carried out to help build a solid foundation for driving and ultimately passing the driving test. Andrew has paid close attention to minor errors and provides guidance on how they can be fixed. Everything was taught with clarity, safety and a couple laughs along the way. Andrew genuinely cares about his students and ensures that they are well prepared and confident for the driving assessment. The lessons are easy to book and available times are clearly outlined. I reckon the lessons are worth every cent and I highly recommend them if you are determined to pass the driving test and becoming a safe and confident driver.

My practice with Andy is totally spot on. All of my practices are useful to pass the assessment. He has top level experience to teach you tips n trick to success at the driving test. With his experience, He trained you towards the test area and inform the critical aspect. Even if you just have limited amount of time, don't hesitate to book the schedule. The experience you got is always worth the money & time you've spend. It was really easy for me to book the schedule online. Hassle-free. I totally don't know Andy before, but with just 1 hour practice, I owe him so much.

Yes, learners can generally take driving lessons in their own car, provided the vehicle meets legal and safety requirements. Dual controls allow the instructor to intervene if necessary, which can be particularly beneficial for beginners.

How Many Driving Lessons Should I Book Before Going For PDA Test?

It is recommended that all students book a minimum of 3 to 5 driving lessons. We provide pickup services for ease and convenience. Also, learners can practice on the same local roads as Perth driving assessors will use during the driving test.

Which one is Good For A Learner: Manual or Automatic Car

Automatic transmission is good for learners, but learning in a manual transmission car will help a learner know the inside out of the overall vehicle’s mechanism. Also, your licence will carry an automatic-only restriction when passing a PDA in a vehicle with an automatic transmission. This means you are not permitted to drive a manual transmission vehicle on that licence. If you later wish to drive a manual vehicle, you can take another driving test in a manual car to have the automatic restriction removed.

However, if you pass your driving test in a manual transmission vehicle, you are generally allowed to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
